说到这次的演讲内容, 女王的 “年终总结”是以阿波罗登月开场，而后回顾各国纪念诺曼底登陆 75 周年。
贺词中表示，放下成见、走向和解。最后的结束语里，更是强调：人类最持久的进步都来自一小步一小步的实践，而不是大的跳跃。

And, as we all look forward to the start of a new decade, it's worth remembering that it is often the small steps, not the giant leaps, that bring about the most lasting change.
当人们不计前嫌，怀着友谊与和解的精神共同着眼未来时，就是好事降临的前兆。在我们共同期待下一个十年来临之际，我们应该记住：不积跬步无以至千里，凡事不是一蹴而就，世间最持久的变化，正来源于此。
