拉宾德拉纳特·泰戈尔（1861年—1941年），印度著名诗人、文学家、社会活动家、哲学家和印度民族主义者。1913年，他以《吉檀迦利》成为第一位获得诺贝尔文学奖的亚洲人。

1924年，他访问了中国。其诗风对中国现代文学产生过重大影响，启迪了郭沫若、徐志摩、冰心等一代文豪，其中许多作品多次被译成中文，最好的版本应属郑振铎先生所译。泰戈尔的《飞鸟集》影响冰心，使她写出了《繁星》《春水》等，在中国现代文学界上迈出了一大步。在中国现代文学花开一枝的“新月派”就是受其影响，在当代文学里也启发了不少诗人。
