Different Countries Have Different Kinds of Englishes
Voyages of people from England play animportant part inspreading the English language. At present, English is frequentlyspoken as anofficialor common language in many countries, such asAmerica, Singapore,Malaysiaand someAfricancountries. All based onBritish English, the English spoken in these countries can be well understood by nativeEnglish speakers. But actually, these Englishes have been graduallychanging in accents, spellings, expressions and theusageof vocabulary.
Because ofthis fact, you can make use ofthe differences to tell which country the foreigners of your blockare from. For example, if a boss fluentlycommandshis driver, “Come up straightto my apartmentby elevatorand take some gasfor my trucks and cabs”, instead of requesting, “Please come to my flatby liftand take somepetrolfor mylorriesand taxis”, you can recognizehis Americanidentity, while the lattersuggests that he is British.
