Dear CISH PYP Parents,
Parent Teacher Conferences are fast approaching and will take place on Wednesday October 28 from14:45-17:10 or 17:35(depending on class size) and on Thursday October 29 from 8:00-15:45. There will be regular school for students on Wednesday October 28, and no school for students on Thursday, October 29.
Just as we did in previous years, we will use SchoolsBuddy (cish.schoolsduddy.net) to arrange conference times for our on-campus PYP Homeroom Teachers. The window to sign up for conferences for on-campus Homeroom teachers will open on Thursday October 22nd at 9am. and close Tuesday October 27th at 12:00pm.
If you are new to CISH and SchoolsBuddy, please check your email today for a welcome email from SchoolsBuddy to register your account. If you did not receive an email, please check your Junk or Spam email folder. If there is still no email, please contact Christian Lee (Christian.lee@cishefei.com) and provide your name, your child’s name and grade, and your email address. I will update your parent account with the email address that you provide and send you a new request.
If you are a returning parent to CISH, you will be able to log into your SchoolsBuddy account with your email address and the password that you created when you originally registered. If you forgot your password, you can reset your password on the login page at cish.schoolsduddy.net.
On-campus Specialty Teacher conferences will be conducted on a drop-in basis. No formal appointment is necessary. If a teacher you are wishing to see is already engaged in a meeting, you can either wait in the chairs provided outside the classroom or meet with another of your child’s Specialty teachers and return when the teacher is available. A list of classroom locations for each teacher will be provided prior to the conference dates.
Online teachers, both Homeroom and Specialty, will contact online parents this week to arrange meeting times over the two conferencing days via Zoom.
If any parents do not wish to have a conference with their Homeroom Teacher, please inform your child’s Homeroom Teacher and provide the reason so. These conferences are very important opportunities for parents to understand how their child is performing in school in all domains and to share in a discussion that looks for further ways to both challenge and support their continued growth. If there are critical concerns that require addressing, such as behaviour or academic, this is an important opportunity to work together to modify your child’s direction to follow a more positive path to success.
Important Information:
•Student participation is optional. Your child does not need to attend the conference with you. However, please note that no activities will be provided for students who are present with their parents as all of our staff will be engaged in the conferences. Parents will be responsible for supervising their own children at all times during the conferences.
•Homeroom Teacher sessions will run 20 minutes each.
•Specialty Teacher sessions will run 15-20 minutes each, depending on parent volume.
•Please be punctual. If parents are late for their meeting time, additional time may not be able to be provided if another meeting is scheduled in the following time slot. Parents may only be provided the time that was originally scheduled to them. If a meeting is missed, please contact your child’s teacher to arrange a make-up meeting.
•Homeroom Teacher Assistants can provide Chinese translation for parents during Homeroom Teacher conferences, however, if a parent requires translation in an additional language, they will need to provide their own translator.
•Specialty Teachers will not have a translator present. Parents will need to provide their own translator for these meetings.

在校的音体美老师见面会将通过无预约的方式进行，不需要正式的预约。如果您想要见的音体美老师正在和其他家长开会，您可以在教室外等待或者先去见另外一个老师再回来。我们将在会议前提供您一张教室表方便您知道每一位老师所在的教室。
如果有任何家长不需要和您孩子的班主任老师会面，请通知您的班主任老师并告知原因。家长老师见面会是一个很好的了解孩子在校，在班学习和全方面表现情况的机会，并可以讨论如何帮助和给他们适合的挑战来帮助他们持续发展。如果有一些重要的问题需要解决，比如纪律或学习上的问题，这是一个重要的机会，可以家校合作一起努力引导孩子，从而走上更积极的成功之路。
重要信息:

•音体美老师不会有翻译在场。家长需要自行安排和这些老师会面的翻译人员。
