今天一早，给高考助考班的学生发了一句话，带着三个空：
Thank you 1 giving me an abundance of grace for2（increase） 3 (fruitful).
空1：
毫无疑问填for，源自于thank you for doing sth. 感谢你做了什么什么。
空2空3：
第一个思考角度：通过句子结构，increase放在for的后面，动词应该+ing，那么自然地后面应该是副词修饰动词，于是两个答案就出来了：for increasing fruitfully.
语法结构没有问题，但是语义不合适。使用increase做为动词，必须指明什么在增加或者增加什么，而句子里显然是缺失increase的逻辑主语，故而increasing fruitfully不成立。
第二个思考角度：for doing sth，于是：increasing fruits.这也是比较多人得出的答案。
这个答案从语法结构上没有毛病。只是从动词搭配上，增加水果产量，应该说increase fruit production，而不是increase fruits.
第三个思考角度：increase活用为形容词，形容fruitfulness。fruitfulness不是字面的“果实”，而是一个隐喻，a state of being fruitful，丰硕成果，丰收。
increasing fruitfulness: it means You are experiencing the improving now at the present. 意为“不断增长的成果”。
increasedfruitfulness:it means you have observed the increase in the past , with the emphasis of your past observation. 强调你观察到过去的增长，”
Thank you forgiving me an abundance of grace for increasing fruitfulness.
感谢你赐给我丰盛的恩典，让我的收获与日俱增。

解释：(increasing) implies that you’re getting bills where prices are rising and may continue to rise. 这句话用increasing，暗示你收到的账单正在上涨，而且可能还会继续上涨。
If you are concerned about the increasedbills,please check with me.
解释：(increased) implies that you’ve just received a bill or bills where the prices have just risen.这句话用increased，表示你刚刚收到一张账单，这张单涨价了。
这下可明白了吧。今天的这句话也可以有两种表达，但含义略有不同。
