These two words are very similar.
Reject: You disagree with an idea.
“He loved her, but she rejected him.”
Refuse: Someone offers you something, but you don’t want it.
“He wanted to kiss her, but she refused him.”
“Refuse” is often mistakenly used instead of “reject” when talking about relationships/love. When you express your feelings to someone but that person does not feel the same way (or does not accept them), that person rejectsyou.
“Reject” 和 “Refuse” 这两个词的用法是非常相像的，不过~
Reject常用于拒绝对方的心意或想法。
而Refuse则用于拒绝对方想给你，但是你并不想要的东西。
在谈情说爱的时候，很多小童鞋会被爱情冲昏了头脑，错用 “Refuse” 来代替 “reject”。
