On April 21st, 2022, the white paper Youth of China in the New Era was published. This is the first time that China has released a white paper specifically about youth groups.

In Zhengzhou, for example, factors supporting young people’s development have been improved. In 2021, Zhengzhou’s GDP reached 1,269.102 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.7%. Furthermore, Zhengzhou has strengthened its efforts to enrich the cultural life of youths. By establishing the Zhengzhou Central Cultural District (CCD), Zhengzhou is acting to upgrade its public cultural services.
郑州的新时代，支撑青年发展的物质条件显著改善，2021年郑州市生产总值12691.02亿元，同比增长4.7％；郑州的新时代，充盈青年精神的文化生活丰富多彩，郑州CCD中央文化区迅猛崛起，公共文化服务水平显著提高。

Yu Yifei, a resident physician of the Zhengzhou People’s Hospital, is a winner of the 26th Henan Youth May 4th Medal.
于逸飞，郑州人民医院住院医师，第26届”河南青年五四奖章”获得者。
On July 20th, 2021 when the rainstorm hit Zhengzhou, this 27-year-old boy spent 6 hours saving people from Metro Line 5. He knelt down and performed CPR repeatedly, rescuing more than ten passengers in total.
2021年7月20日，在郑州那场令人记忆深刻的特大暴雨中，这个27岁的小伙子，曾在地铁五号线内跪地救人6个小时。他曾在不同人的胸部重复按压动作，十几个人因为他的及时施救而重获新生。
When asked why he was willing to risk his own life to save others, he said: “I am in a position to save others. It’s just like I do for my work, only this time it’s outside the hospital. I am just a freshman doctor doing his best.”
当人们问及“是什么力量令你奋不顾身去救人”时，他说：“医院里的医生每天都在救人，这一次只不过是地点不同罢了。其实作为医生，我还是个新人，没什么特别的。”

Li Dang’en, the head of the Shibalihe Fire and Rescue Station in Guancheng District, Zhengzhou, is the moral model of the 6th Helping Others program in Zhengzhou, and a winner of the 26th Henan Youth May 4th Medal.
李党恩，郑州市管城区十八里河消防救援站站长，郑州市第六届“助人为乐”道德模范，第26届“河南青年五四奖章”获得者。
He spent some time every week in the rehabilitation center, taking care of children with cerebral palsy by telling stories. He also often cared for elderly people who live alone and served as a volunteer in nursing homes.
他是每周到康复中心给小朋友讲故事、帮脑瘫儿童恢复健康的“大哥哥”；他是经常照顾独居老人、去敬老院当义工的“好儿子”。
He got the idea to get into volunteering after a fire in 2014, when his hands were severely injured from breaking a window to save people. His disabled right hand has become a permanent record of that accident, but it also inspired him to participate in programs for the public good. He said: “I have trouble day-to-day using only one hand. For those who are more severely disabled, it will be even more difficult to live an independent life. They need to be cared for.” His is an example for us all.
他与公益事业的渊源，源自2014年突如其来的一场火灾。破窗救人时，他的右手成了“十级伤残”。终身残疾的右手，成了李党恩的荣誉勋章，更成了他献身公益事业的力量源泉。他说：“我只伤了一只手，就已经觉得有些不便了，那些身体残缺更严重的人生活该多么困难啊，他们需要社会更多的关爱。”李党恩，了不起的“火焰蓝”，新时代的“活雷锋”。

Jin Yi, secretary and director of the Party Committee of Dali Village, Fengyang Sub-district Office, Zhengzhou High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Zhengzhou, and chairman of the Fang Yikun Group, is a winner of the 26th Henan Youth May 4th Medal.
金一，郑州市高新区枫杨办事处大里村党委书记、村委会主任，方一坤集团董事长，第26届”河南青年五四奖章”获得者。
Under his leadership, the Village Party Committee set up the Dali Scholarship Fund of about one million yuan to help and reward university students. In two consecutive years, the Fund has supported more than 40 students. What’s more, he invited more than 50 legal entities to establish a Charity Federation in the Zhengzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone, and launched the “Charity Porridge House” program. He also founded the Fang Yikun Group, offering jobs for 600 elderly migrant workers. The Group was later rated as an “Entrepreneurship Demonstration Project for Migrant Workers Returning Home in Henan”. He led the village party branch and village committee in reusing collective assets and brought in an income of more than 14 million yuan to the village by utilizing the delivered houses along the street.

Ren Xiang is the chairman of the China-UK Technology and Innovation Platform. “I was born in Zhengzhou and then studied in the UK for years. I decide to return home, and engage in attracting talented people and constructing an international innovation platform. I want to contribute my abilities to the rapid development of Zhengzhou.” he said at the press conference of Zhengzhou Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which had the theme “Vibrant Zhengzhou, Youthful Zhengzhou”. At the conference, Ren Xiang delivered a speech based on his experience of entrepreneurship and sent an invitation to global talents to come live in Zhengzhou.

Ren Xiang, who returned to China in 2008, has experience in investment and entrepreneurship in the fields of new energy vehicles and the Internet of Things. He has deep knowledge of the importance of talents and resources in the development of an industry. In 2018, he created the China-UK Technology and Innovation Platform in Zhengdong New District. Over the past several years, this Platform has introduced 29 high-level talents from abroad, carried out more than 50 international and domestic activities and established a think tank for the development of government industry. These forces have boosted the development of local biomedicine, big data, electronic information, metaverse and other fields. The China-UK Biomedical Innovation Shared Accelerator, jointly built by the Platform and Zhengdong New District authority, is a key project in Henan Province.
2008年回国的任翔，参与过新能源汽车、物联网等领域的投资和创业，并深刻体会到产业发展机遇离不开人才和资源。2018年，他创建中英科技创新平台并落地郑东新区。几年来，引入高层次海归人才29位、开展境外境内各类活动50余次，并成立政府产业发展的智囊团，推动了本地生物医药、大数据、电子信息、元宇宙等领域的发展，其和郑东新区共建的中英生物医学创新共享加速器是河南省重点项目。
Ren Xiang believes that youngsters from abroad should apply what they’ve learned overseas, like their advanced knowledge and skills, towards the development of Zhengzhou. They should shoulder the responsibility and play a leading role in innovating to boost development, creating a vibrant and youthful Zhengzhou.
