The Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group recently announced its commitment to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050, reinforcing its long-standing strategy of working towards decarbonisation and environmental sustainability across its operations.

新航集团旗下的航空公司新航、酷航和新航货运将开展多项举措来实现这一目标。这些措施包括投资于新一代飞机,实现更高的运营效率,采用可持续航空燃料等低碳技术,以及采购高质量的碳抵消。

The Group’s airlines, Singapore Airlines, Scoot and SIA Cargo, will use multiple levers to achieve this goal. These include investing in new-generation aircraft, achieving higher operational efficiency, adopting low-carbon technology such as sustainable aviation fuels, and sourcing for high quality carbon offsets.

新加坡航空公司总裁吴俊鹏表示,如今,航空公司大幅度降低碳排放最有效、最直接的方法就是运营一批年轻的机队。

Goh Choon Phong, Chief Executive Officer, Singapore Airlines, said that Today, the most effective and direct way for an airline to materially lower carbon emission is by operating a young fleet of aircraft.

吴俊鹏说:“在过去的一年里,我们退役了45架老飞机。我们将逐步用燃油效率提高30%的新一代飞机取代它们,并在未来几年大幅降低我们的排放量。”

“Over the last year, we have retired 45 older aircraft. We will be gradually replacing them with new-generation aircraft that are up to 30 per cent more fuel efficient, and will substantially lower our emissions in coming years,” Goh Choon Phong said.

Doximity, the largest online social network for physicians in the United States, recently said in its IPO prospectus that it’s allocating up to 15% of shares in the offering for physicians through a “reserved share program.”

Founded in 2011, Doximity has been largely under the radar even though it’s based in San Francisco.

The service is now used by 1.8 million medical professionals in all of the top 20 hospitals and health systems, according to the prospectus.

Revenue surged 78% last year to $206.9 million.

The company says it wants to be the world’s largest physician-owned technology company.
