Recently ourGrade 5studentswere thrilled when, as an introduction to their second unit of inquiry on “Who We Are”,theywere taken into the MYP science lab to experiencefirst-handwhat real mammalian organs look and feel like.
最近，我们五年级的学生进入第二单元“我们是谁”的探索学习。他们被带到MYP科学实验室，观察并感受真实的哺乳动物器官。
Research shows that hands on experiences for students capitalizes on their propensity and desire to learn and this was evident during their time in the lab. Students were encouraged to make connections to their own body systems and personal experiences through various thinking routines.They also benefitted fromgroup discussions along with conversationswith our MYP Science teachers andour EAL teachers who were there to lend support in this very exciting exploration.
研究表明，学生的动手实验能充分调动他们的学习热情和兴趣，这在他们在实验室的时候尤为明显。在实验过程中，老师鼓励学生通过各种各样的思维方式将涉及到的知识与自己的身体系统和个人经历相结合。通过小组讨论，与在场的MYP科学老师和EAL老师的交谈，学生们受益良多。
